Lost Spaces is an indie-synth pop musical project started by Sam Lopez. He began lost spaces as a safe place where he could get away and sort the mess of his own mind. There, he would be isolated with his creativity to write and create. Influenced by the likes of HalfNoise, Seoul and Toro Y Moi this solo project is brought to life on stage by his band comprising some friends and family. Starting out with recruiting his cousin Imran Marshall to play the bass, the band's line-up later expanded with the addition of synths player & producer Kuszanagi, and lead guitarist Shien.
2019 has been their biggest year yet, when they opened for Korean indie rock band HYUKOH혁오 at KL Live and Phum Viphurit at The Bee while playing Good Vibes Festival 2019 alongside the likes of Daniel Caeser, Mura Masa, 6LACK and Dean. They were featured in 2019’s edition of Urbanscapes with the likes of Boy pablo, Glass Animals, The Drums & The Marias.
What began as an individual’s journey in finding his own place in this world, is now a space Sam wants to create for everyone from all walks of life to be drawn to and lose themselves in. Combining quirky sounds with lush synths, fuzzed guitars and syncopated drum beats, Lost Spaces aims to make music for people to vibe, groove and by extension, get lost in.
